Mia Badiei
Product designer.

I design products, brands, and the stories that bring them to people. Currently leading design at MAI.

01MAI

2025 — Present
Design leadership · Product · Brand · Campaigns

I lead design across MAI’s app, brand, and creatives. Across successive product improvements, I design core workflows, set the website direction for handoff, and create campaign concepts and visuals.

App → launch

Product, brand, web direction, and campaign creative connected by one design lead.

More about this project
01 / Make the product usable

Refine chat, monitoring, reports, and campaign workflows through successive design passes. Make AI progress, generated outputs, and next steps easier to understand.

02 / Connect product and story

Set the website’s design direction, then collaborate on execution. Create marketing visuals and campaign concepts, including humor and meme-led ideas.

03 / Make the work repeatable

Build reusable report and chart patterns, define interaction states, and document decisions for engineering handoff.

Company context: MAI announced $25M in funding in 2025 ↗.

Product abstraction · Visual systems

I turned detailed product interfaces into a reusable visual language. The abstraction system makes it possible to explain one feature clearly, while keeping each visual recognizably Descript.

3 levels

An abstraction system for explaining the product across web, video, and social.

More about this project
The challenge

A full product screenshot can hide the feature you’re trying to explain. Different channels need different amounts of detail.

My decision

Define three levels of abstraction, with principles for what to keep, simplify, or remove. Preserve recognizable product behavior.

The deliverable

A growing asset library and shared guidelines the team can use across marketing and educational content.

03Tembo

2024
Brand identity · End-to-end product design

I designed the brand and the full product experience for Tembo’s Postgres platform, bringing configuration, status, and deployment into a clearer hierarchy.

Brand + product

One connected design direction, from first impression to the developer workflow.
